Why Yellow?

Renovations are complicated. They involve many moving parts, and can completely upend your life if managed poorly. Contractors are frequently more concerned with getting the job done fast than doing the job correctly. Why is this? While that answer may vary, we've found that the general reason is that some contractors aren't invested in the final product. That's not the case with Yellow.

Founded in 2023 by a licensed interior designer, Yellow Design & Build offers the best of both worlds: a contractor with experience in renovations of all sizes on homes of all types, and a designer who cares about getting to know clients and delivering a stellar end product. If you have another designer you're working with, we can handle the buildout while communicating with your design team with ease. Similarly, if you have a contractor but need a designer, we can do that, too.

Lydia Blanton received her degree in Interior Design from UCO (Oklahoma born and raised) and worked in Oklahoma City for a variety of design firms, but her interest has always been in the full construction process. She moved to Washington, DC in 2020 to work for a design and build firm, where she was able to design and manage projects across the District. Her time in D.C. gave her the necessary experience, and inspired her to come back to her home state to put that knowledge to use.
